Reduce Your Use Grants: Steps You Can Take - pnmprod
PNM Reduce Your Use Grants
Energy Saving Steps You Could Take
The PNM Fund wants to help your nonprofit organization save energy and money. Not only will these grants help the environment, but spending less on energy means you'll have more resources to support your mission.
Energy-saving upgrades
Properly selected for your facility, energy-efficiency investments made today can result in ongoing financial savings. For example, properly insulating and sealing air leaks in a building could reduce cooling and heating bills by as much as 30 percent, plus improve overall comfort.
When you apply for the grant, we ask you to tell us about the specific measures you will take to Reduce Your Use. Start thinking about how you could use a Reduce Your Use Grant up to $5,000 to improve the energy efficiency of your facility:
- Replace your incandescent bulbs with CFLs (compact fluorescents). Incandescent lights use four times the electricity of comparable CFL lights.
- Install energy-efficient windows
- Have your building properly insulated and weatherized.
- Purchase Energy Star® appliances
- Make a down payment on a solar panel
- Be creative; there is much more you can do!
Maximize your grant with the PNM Business Energy Efficiency Program
Before you submit your Reduce Your Use Grant application, consider calling 877-607-0741 to speak with a PNM Business Energy Efficiency Program advisor. They can help determine if you'd qualify for a rebate that you can combine with the Reduce Your Use Grant, so you can get the most from your grant and reduce the overall cost of your project.
