PNM Sponsorships

PNM supports community events and activities that strengthen the communities we serve. Our sponsorships are designed to advance initiatives aligned with our corporate giving priorities while remaining responsive to local community needs across PNM's service territory.

Sponsorship Focus

PNM offers limited sponsorships¿typically under $5,000to support community-based events and short-term activities held within PNM's service area. We have a special interest in energy-related events, gatherings, and causes that align with our corporate giving strategy.

PNM recognizes that community needs vary across our service territory, and we encourage organizations in rural and underserved areas to share how their events support and strengthen their local communities. Community-focused events with clear local impact are encouraged to apply, provided they align with PNM's Priority Impact Areas.

If your organization's work aligns with one or more of these impact areas, we welcome you to apply for sponsorship to support community meetings, gatherings, conferences, and fundraisers.

Sponsorship Eligibility Requirements

Alignment with one or more of PNM's Priority Impact Areas is a required condition for sponsorship consideration.

To be considered, sponsorship requests must clearly support at least one of the following:

Priority Impact Areas

  • Education & Workforce Development
    Initiatives that create and develop an energy workforce and support future-ready talent.
  • Clean Energy Future
    Efforts that advance how New Mexico will achieve a clean energy future, including environmental stewardship and sustainability.
  • Energy Affordability & Access
    Programs or events that support access to affordable, reliable energy and promote energy equity for our communities. Requests that do not align with at least one Priority Impact Area will not be considered.

Application Timing & Review

Sponsorship requests must be submitted online at least 60 business days prior to the event date and must align with PNM's Priority Impact Areas. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. All sponsorship decisions are made at PNM's discretion and are subject to available resources.

What We Do Not Fund

  • Individual participation, personal endeavors, or individual financial needs
  • Gift cards of any kind
  • Scouting organizations, booster clubs, or individual school PTAsv
  • Individual Pre-K¿12 public schools or school programs
    (In these cases, the parent school district may be eligible to apply)
  • Programs or events outside of PNM's service territory
  • Travel or hospitality expenses of any kind, including:
    • Transportation or vehicle rentals
    • Travel to and from conferences or events
    • Reimbursements for activities
    • Hotel, food, or hospitality costs

Looking for Larger or Long-Term Funding?

Organizations seeking larger funding amounts or support for long-term programs or organizational needs should consider applying through the PNM Foundation.

Please note:

  • Applicants must be charitable, 501(c)(3)eligible nonprofit organizations
  • Requests must be submitted through the PNM Foundation's grant application process
  • Foundation grants support long-term programs and organizational initiatives
  • Foundation funds may not be used for sponsorships, events, fundraisers, or short-term activities

Is a PNM Sponsorship the Right Fit?

A sponsorship request may be a good fit if you can answer "yes" to all three questions below:

  1. Is your request for an event or short-term activity taking place within PNM's service territory?
  2. Does the event clearly align with at least one Priority Impact Area and demonstrate community benefit?
  3. Are you requesting under $5,000 and not seeking funding for travel, individual participation, or ongoing program support?

If you answered "no" to any question, your organization may be better suited for PNM Foundation Grants funding, if eligible.

Submission of a sponsorship request does not guarantee funding. Requests are reviewed based on community impact, alignment with PNM priorities, and available resources.
