In 2011, PNM consolidated our northern customers and southern customers (formerly served by TNMP) into one service area. As a result, residential customers in the former TNMP service area received a monthly bill credit based on how much electricity was used. We did this for customers in the former TNMP service area to help minimize the rate impact for high usage as a result of this rate consolidation. An order approving the PNM 2015 rate review by the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (NMPRC) explained that this credit would eventually be eliminated. As a result, this credit was eliminated in the PNM rate review that was approved by the NMPRC and implemented in October 2016.
Because you are a customer in a community formerly served by TNMP, this increase may increase your bill as the weather warms up and your usage likely increases.

A specially trained PNM Energy Ambassador will meet you at your home to perform a thorough assessment of your home's lighting, heating and cooling systems and insulation and appliances. We will install up to 20 free LED light bulbs, two LED night lights, up to two efficient-flow showerheads, kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators and a smart power strip. Your Energy Ambassador will also tell you what rebates you might qualify for.
