PNM Initiates Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in Las Vegas, NM. PNM has shut off power to 2,300 customers in Las Vegas due to extreme fire risk. This is a last resort measure to protect lives and property against the risk our electrical equipment igniting a wildfire.
Crews will begin patrolling power lines for damage once wind conditions are safe to do so and wildfire risk has gone down. Power is estimated to be out for customers affected by this PSPS until 3 a.m. Friday.
PNM has directly notified all customers affected by this PSPS.
