Getting Help
See how to receive assistance paying your electric bill during COVID-19
The need for electricity in your home during a pandemic is critical, especially with furloughs, reduced household budgets, online schooling, keeping cool during the heat of the summer, and so many people still working from home. The New Mexico Human Services Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is working together to help low-income families with as much as $550 to pay their electric bill.
The PNM Good Neighbor Fund is an emergency assistance fund for PNM customers facing an unexpected financial hardship due to an emergency situation. The PNM Good Neighbor Fund may be able to help cover part or all of a past-due PNM bill up to $170 once per year to qualified residential customers.
Grant recipients are income-eligible with proof of a qualified emergency situation that occurred within the last six months that has caused an unexpected loss in household income.
To qualify, the current income in your household must be within the following net income guidelines:
- Household size of 1 person = $1,610 monthly household income
- Household size of 2 person = $2,178monthly household income
- Household size of 3 person = $2,745 monthly household income
- Household size of 4 person = $3,313 monthly household income
- Household size of 5 person = $3,380 monthly household income
- Household size of 6 person = $4,448 monthly household income
- Household size of 7 person = $5,015 monthly household income
- Household size of 8 person = $5,583 monthly household income
