PNM pays it forward in New Mexico
PNM pays it forward to New Mexico with hundreds of employees volunteering with nonprofits in the community throughout the year. Regularly giving back is part of our company's values, including the PNM Annual Day of Service, an entire day dedicated to nonprofits all over New Mexico with much needed hands-on help with community service projects. PNM employees have helped local nonprofits such as youth-based programs, animal nonprofits, performing arts, healthcare, technology, food relief, and many more. PNM cares and knows strong nonprofits are key to a thriving community. PNM is a proud sponsor of Pay It 4Ward with KOB, which highlights good people doing good things in our communities.
Safety is close to our heart
Proper handling and disposal keeps them from drifting into power lines and causing a power outage.
When a metallic balloon touches a power line or floats into substation equipment, it can cause a surge of electricity that short circuits equipment and can lead to power outages, fires, and possible injuries.
- Keep balloons tethered at all times and attached to a weight.
- When no longer in use, puncture and deflate the balloons before creatively reusing or disposing of them.
- If a balloon or another toy becomes entangled in an overhead power line, do not attempt to retrieve it.

PNM supports Heart Savers for educators, students and athletes
PNM believes in education, and sometimes education saves lives. CPR training is free and can save a life when response time is critical. Highland High School is very excited to be gifted the CPR Anywhere Training Kits from the American Heart Association and PNM. The staff and teachers are being trained in CPR and will work to ensure each student household is equipped with a "Heart Saver". The kits students will soon receive is courtesy of a donation by PNM to the Go Red For Women 2023 event this month. The CPR Anywhere Training Kits that Highland High School will receive include educational materials and lifesaving training items such as inflatable mannequins, replacement airways, and AED training simulators.
If you do not receive one of these kits but would like to get trained in CPR, please reach out to the American Heart Association at cpr.heart.org or other trusted agencies for proper training. About 20 percent of cardiac arrests happen in public places and it is important to remember that, as a bystander, your actions can only help.
The PNM Pueblo Scholarship Fund
The PNM Pueblo Scholarship Fund was created to support educational and professional development of Pueblo Indian residents in New Mexico. The scholarships are open to full-time and part-time students. PNM has partnered with Native Forward, formally the American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC), to administer the scholarship fund and endowment.
The first round of scholarships was awarded to students for the Fall 2022/Spring 2023 semesters. Upcoming scholarship submission deadline for the 2023/2024 school year is June 1st.
